Just due to update content here from time to time...indeed, everything is working well. So nice to be free of the Net Nanny and have unfettered access to blogger/blogspot. Aside from just keeping the domain proper here, I think I should definitely find a way to appropriately divy up this blog vs my other one. Just not sure which way to go...yet.

This is a sculpture just jutting out of the 10th (?) floor of a tall building along the road (nanshan lu?) that eventually gets one to Shekou. I thought it was pretty cool; but I'm not sure if this picture in and of itself does it justice.

(We took this picture from the window of our taxi cab as we were stuck in traffic on the way to an awesome italian restaurant for Marsha's birthday)...

This was recorded early in our set we played on February 10. Fun show, and due to a more careful sound set up than ever before, it was probably half-decent sounding for that venue (they don't really have a sound system for bands so we had to bring stuff from our singer's house).

Stepping out of the whole .Mac world has been liberating - using a blog editor built into my browser is very, very convenient. Hope this works???

Children of Men

Just finished watching "Children of Men" - it was pretty good. Not sure if I can honestly say "great" - but definitely one of the better dystopian sci-fi movies out there; and it was paced/shot beautifully. The story was told minimally but very effectively.

The ending did conclude the story (as it should), but I was left wanting a little more; maybe that's why I'm not even more enthusiastic as I type this.

I'm happy that Blogger appears to be working again in China. However, it's been quite some time since my last use of Blogger and I think that my old blog has been deleted. :(

However, given the recent difficulties I'm having with .Mac, then perhaps this is a better way to go. Of course, I can't really imagine that this will stay reliable too long - it just seems that free blogging sites get abused when China is involved, and the great firewall always seems to block them out.

Then again, things may have changed; Google and China seem to be getting along better than ever, and perhaps this is how/why Blogspot is able to survive here now.
